Mission
At Daffodil International University, our mission through the One Student One Laptop initiative is to eliminate the digital divide by ensuring every undergraduate student has direct, personal access to a laptop. We are committed to equipping our students with the technological tools they need to engage with modern education, develop critical digital skills, and participate meaningfully in an increasingly AI-driven global economy. By placing technology in the hands of every student, we empower them to learn without limits, grow without barriers, and contribute without boundaries.
Vision
Our vision is to build a generation of digitally fluent, future-ready graduates who are confident, innovative, and globally competitive. We envision a Daffodil International University where no student is left behind due to a lack of access to technology where every learner can explore Artificial Intelligence, engage with international platforms, pursue academic excellence, and unlock economic opportunities through the power of a single device. We aspire to be an institution that not only prepares students for the world of today but also empowers and shapes the entrepreneurs, leaders, and innovators of tomorrow.
Why One Student One Laptop?
In today's rapidly evolving world, technology plays a crucial role in shaping the future of education. Without proper access to digital tools, our students may fall behind in a global landscape that is advancing faster than ever. While students in many other countries are actively participating in international programs, applying for scholarships, and accessing a wealth of online resources, many of our students face challenges due to limited access to such facilities.
We are now entering an era where Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming every aspect of our lives, from healthcare and education to business and beyond. AI is making complex tasks simpler, faster, and smarter, and those who understand and embrace it will lead the future. Without hands-on exposure to AI tools and technologies, students may find themselves struggling in a job market that increasingly demands digital fluency and AI literacy.
Understanding this reality, we believe that a laptop is not just a device — it is a bridge to opportunity. With this in mind, DIU humbly initiated the One Student One Laptop program. Through this initiative, every student gains:
- Digital Inclusion: Equal access to technology regardless of background, closing the gap with students worldwide.
- AI-Ready Workforce: Hands-on exposure to AI tools, preparing students to embrace rather than fear the AI-driven future.
- Future Employability: The digital fluency and skills today's job market increasingly demands.
- Research Capability: The means to explore academic content deeply and contribute original ideas, not just rely on textbooks.
- Innovation Culture: A campus-wide environment where students are encouraged to experiment, build, and create.
- Smart Bangladesh Contribution: A generation of digitally empowered graduates contributing to the nation's tech-driven future.
- Freelancing & Entrepreneurship: The tools to earn, innovate, and build ventures even before graduation.
- Online Learning Readiness: Access to global learning platforms, international scholarships, and online courses.
- Industry 4.0 Preparation: Readiness for a world shaped by automation, data, and intelligent systems.
Our goal is to ensure that every student is equipped with the technological support they need to learn effectively, grow confidently, and compete globally.
