DIU is providing you this high configured daffodil laptop to make you the best for the challenging job market. These are not granted for time passing and misuse, like, chatting in the internet, playing games, watching unnecessary videos, listening music, involved with any sort of cybercrime etc. It is you who need to set your career goal before getting the daffodil laptop, otherwise, all our investment for the project will go in vain.
So, you must determine your career and start to use the daffodil laptop targeting that career goals to succeed. If any student is found not complying with the rules and regulation set by the university, DIU authority may take back the daffodil laptop for the student without any notice. DIU authority and Faculty preserve full right to call any student under the daffodil laptop project to investigate how the student is using daffodil laptop, what progress is really and effectively going on for making his/her career better and secured by the students, who we love, take care of and awarded a free daffodil laptop. Moreover, the authority will arrange quiz/ test: time to time to get clear idea how you are having benefited by the daffodil laptop provided by the university.

Important Issues:
- No other financial benefit will be applicable in exchange of the Laptop.
- DIU preserves the right to decline this acknowledgement without any prior notice (If there is any dire necessity)
- DIU preserves the right to take back the Laptop from any student any time if s/he is found to make any violence, misconduct, Criminal activities and misuse this technology.
- The applicant will be solely responsible if his laptop is lost. However he/she will have to inform the
- University authority by a written application which will have to be verified and signed by both the sponsors.
- The student cannot handover or transfer or replace or sell the Laptop to any other person.
- If any student wants to dropout or discontinues his/her studies at DIU, he/she will have to take proper permission from the University and will have to deposit the amount of price of the laptop which will be fixed by the DIU authority.
POLICY ONE STUDENT ONE LAPTOP
1. Purpose
The One Student One Laptop (OSOL) Program is a university initiative to equip eligible undergraduate students with a laptop to support their academic activities. This policy defines the eligibility criteria, application procedure, issuance schedule, and consequences for missed collection ensuring the program is administered in a fair, transparent, and accountable manner.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all current enrolled undergraduate students of the university who meet the eligibility criteria defined in Section 3. It governs the initial application process, scheduled issuance, and late-collection procedures.
3. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the One Student One Laptop Program, a student must satisfy ALL of the following conditions at the time of application:
3.1 Academic Requirements

- Must maintain a minimum average Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.50 in each semester.
- Minimum CGPA English courses: A minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.00 is required.
- Must be currently registered in the 5th semester or higher at the time of application.
- Must have no retake (backlog) courses from any semester prior to and including the 4th semester.
3.2 Financial & Administrative Standing

- Must have no outstanding university dues including tuition fees, library fines, laboratory charges, or any other institutional payments.
- Must not be under any active disciplinary action, suspension, or academic probation imposed by the university.
3.3 Application Compliance

- Must submit the laptop application within the officially announced application window. Late applications will not be accepted in the initial cycle.
4. Ineligible Categories — Who Cannot Apply
The following categories of students are NOT eligible to apply for the One Student One Laptop Program under any circumstances:

Note: Students falling under any of the above categories will not be considered for the program regardless of their academic performance or semester standing. No appeal will be entertained on these grounds.
5. Application Procedure

- The university will issue an official notification via institutional email to all potentially eligible students during the 5th or 6th semester, announcing the application timeline and scheduled laptop collection dates.
- Students must verify their eligibility according to the criteria mentioned in Section 3 and submit the prescribed application form within the announced deadline through the university portal or designated office.
- All submitted applications will be reviewed and verified by the One Student One Laptop Coordinator. Students who fail to meet the required criteria will be considered ineligible and notified accordingly.
- Eligible students will be assigned a specific date and time slot for laptop collection. Students are required to attend the collection program according to their assigned schedule.
- Students who do not receive the official notification email due to disciplinary issues, academic status, incorrect email information, or technical problems must contact the One Student One Laptop Coordinator Office before the application deadline to verify their eligibility and collect necessary instructions.

Important: It is the student's sole responsibility to keep their registered email address active and up to date in the university system. Failure to receive a notification due to an inactive, full, or incorrect email address does not exempt a student from any deadline or penalty under this policy. |
6. Late Collection Policy and Penalty Framework
Students who miss their scheduled application and collection window may still apply, subject to the following conditions and mandatory late penalty fees:
6.1 Late Application & Collection — 9th or 10th Semester

- A student who misses the scheduled application and collection window and applies during the 9th or 10th semester must pay a late collection fee of BDT 5,000/- (Five Thousand Taka only) before receiving the laptop.
6.2 Late Application & Collection — 11th or 12th Semester (Final Two Semesters Before Graduation)

- A student who has not applied for or collected their laptop by the end of the 10th semester and applies during the 11th or 12th semester must pay a late collection fee of BDT 10,000/- (Ten Thousand Taka only) before receiving the laptop.
6.3 Permanent Ineligibility After Completion of All Semesters

- A student who has completed all required academic semesters and has commenced their Internship, Thesis, or any equivalent final-stage academic requirement shall be permanently ineligible to receive a laptop under this program.
- No exception, waiver, or appeal will be entertained once a student has reached this stage.

7. Special Considerations — Communication Failures
The university acknowledges that certain students may have missed the official notification due to circumstances including disciplinary proceedings, temporary suspension, result-related issues, or technical email failures. In such cases:

- The student must personally communication with Coordinator One student One Laptop and submit a written appeal explaining the reason for non-receipt of the notification, along with relevant supporting documents.
- Appeals will be reviewed by a designated committee. Granting any penalty exemption is entirely at the discretion of the university authority and is not guaranteed.
- All appeals must be in writing. Verbal requests will not be entertained.
- Appeals must be submitted no later than the end of the 10th semester. Appeals submitted after this deadline will not be considered under any circumstances.

8. General Conditions

- Each eligible student is entitled to receive one laptop only. There will be no replacement, exchange, or additional issuance under any circumstance.
- The laptop remains university property until any applicable conditions for ownership transfer are fulfilled, as per the university asset policy.
- The university reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel this policy at any time. All changes will be communicated via official email and the university website.
- Any unethical activity, misuse of the laptop, unauthorized sale or transfer, or any social media post related to selling, promoting, or misusing the laptop may result in immediate return of the laptop, temporary suspension, and other disciplinary actions as per university policy.
